Rays of God Published: August 17, 2009
-by Bobby Thompson

It was a clear day. The sky mirrored the blue of Caribbean seas, and the wind held back, motionless, resembling the eye of a storm

Suddenly, across the horizon grew clouds of ominous color. Fear spread and the cows herded together. As the dark began to infest the sky, lights of the world dimmed—one by one.

The light became less important as the Sun was hidden behind the growth of a shielding haze.

Once the sky was fully immersed behind this smokescreen of clouds, it was dark, but not entirely. The trusting rays of Light continued to peer through the fallible barrier.

As always, storms pass, and the rays of God shall not peer but shine freely for all to see.

Sunlight & Imperfections

As I drive down the highway, truly, there is not much to do, but look at the scenery. Then on accident I refocus my eyes and see all the imperfections on the window, from rainspots, to cracks, to patches of discoloring that could have been done by no other than a bird. Yet while I scour this window like a hawk, we pass under a bridge and all the imperfections are hidden from view. Then as we emerge from beneath the shade, the light shines through; even with the imperfections, the light easily overpowers the imperfections.
So are we not just like the window? We can easliy hide our imperfections in the darkness, but if we bring them into the light, we shine so much brighter.
